US Standard Apparel is different because it's built on fabric first. It's backed by SAS Textiles, a Vernon knitting operation that has supplied premium labels for more than 30 years, and every USSA garment is knit, cut, and sewn in Los Angeles. That foundation gives brands something most blank suppliers can't: premium ready-to-ship blanks with no minimums, and a direct path to custom fabric, fit, and color from the same team.
Here's what sets USSA apart.
Our Story
SAS Textiles began as a knitting partnership and grew into a 140,000-square-foot circular knitting operation in Vernon, one of the largest on the West Coast. For more than three decades, it has supplied fabric to premium US-produced labels.
In 2018, US Standard Apparel was co-founded to take that manufacturing knowledge and build premium blank apparel that doesn't come from halfway around the world. USSA is backed by the same fabric development and knitting capabilities behind SAS Textiles.
Seven Things That Make USSA Different
1. We make the fabric.
With 150 knitting machines in-house, we control weight, hand, and consistency on every run. Our library includes jersey, vintage jersey, baby rib, 2x1 rib, thermal, waffle, and heavyweight brushed fleece.
2. American cotton.
Every style outside our ECOCYCLE® line is made from 100% US-grown, US-grown cotton cotton. Our core 1551 Standard Tee is 6.5 oz ring-spun 18/1 jersey.
3. Serious weight.
Tees up to 6.5 oz/yd² and fleece up to 14.5 oz/yd², including the 3223 Vintage Hoodie and 5510 Vintage Slacker.
4. A closed-loop recycled line.
The ECOCYCLE® collection uses yarn that's 50% recycled and 50% BCI cotton from Spain's Belda Lloréns. Each month, our knitting and garment production waste goes back to the mill to become new ECOCYCLE® yarn.
5. Built for brands.
No wholesale minimums, tear-away labels, and same-day shipping on in-stock orders placed by 11 a.m. PT.
6. A clear path from blank to bespoke.
Custom garment dye from 200 units per colorway, and full-package private label from 500 units per body, with pattern development at $1,200–$2,000, including grading, two revisions, and three samples.
7. Made in LA, start to finish.
Knitting, cutting, sewing, and final finishing and QC happen in-house in Vernon, and garment dyeing and embellishment are done with trusted partners in LA. Every garment is made in the USA.
